Waterloo Animal Control Searching for Answers in Animal Cruelty Case

WATERLOO, Iowa - Waterloo Animal Control is looking for any information surrounding a animal cruelty investigation where a dog was found dead in a kennel Saturday morning.

Animal Control and the Reinbeck-based organization Agape Fosters said the dog was covered in feces and urine and had looked like it died from either starvation or dehydration. Both said it looked like the dog had been kept in its kennel for quite a while.

The dog was left on a gravel road near the 2700 block of Independence Avenue in Waterloo either late Friday night or early Saturday morning. Animal control discovered the dog at 8:15 a.m Saturday.

A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone that has information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

If you have any information, you are asked to call Agape Fosters at 319-239-2268 or Waterloo Animal Control at 319-235-5535.
