Bobby Brown on Whitney Houston Death: Not My Fault!

Bobby Brown taped an interview with Matt Lauer this morning - for segments on The Today Show that will run Wednesday and Thursday - and made it a priority to defend himself against accusations that his hard-partying lifestyle played a role in the tragic death of Whitney Houston.

"I didn't get high before I met Whitney," Brown says, seemingly blaming HER for HIS problems, although clarifying that he did smoke "weed" and drink prior to their relationship.

But Brown emphasized that he wasn't "the one that got Whitney on drugs at all" and that he feels "terrible" folks think otherwise.

Whitney and Bobby

Because, really people, the important thing here is how Bobby Brown feels.

Houston and Brown were married from 1992 to 2007 and are the parents of a daughter, Bobbi Kristina. The singer told Lauer that their one year of filming Being Bobby Brown had a profound affect on their recreational drug use.

"The reality show gave us a wakeup," he says. "We [were] able to see that our drug use had affected our relationship, had affected the love that we felt for each other."

When did Bobby last see Whitney? About a week prior to her passing. He said she "looked really well" at the time.

Brown - who pleaded out a DUI arrest just this week in order to avoid jail time - said he was shocked and "hurt" when he learned Houston died with cocaine in her system. At the end of the day...

"I love that woman with everything that I am. And I believe she loved me the same way. We wouldn't have been able to make the most beautiful girl in the world - without love. And that's the truth."

Katie Price: Engaged to Leandro Penna!

Leandro Penna is set to marry Katie Price.

The voluptuous UK model, who only recently got divorced from Alex Reid, after getting divorced by Peter Andre not long before that, showed off her huge, sparkly, pink, heart-shaped diamond engagement ring this week.

Last night, she tweeted: "Wooo hooo so excited." Woo.

Katie's spokesman confirmed the engagement, telling The Sun: "It's true, they are engaged. Leandro proposed to Katie while they were away skiing recently and she said yes. They told her children but intended to keep it secret for a while."

"They are both very happy. No wedding arrangements have been made and they are both relaxed about that for the time being."

Katie Price and Leandro Penna, a model from Argentina, first met at Elton John's Oscars party last year. The mother of three has certainly been through a roller coaster in the romance department. Let's hope the third time's the charm?

Leaked materials give us a sneak peek at the EVO 4G LTE marketing campaign, suggest a May 18 release

EVO 4G LTE packaging

This morning we're getting a first look at what the promotional blitz for the upcoming EVO 4G LTE will look like, courtesy of the fine folks over at Good and EVO. In addition to the packaging for Sprint's next flagship seen above, the website also got its hands on a few marketing images which tout the device's ImageSense-powered camera and built-in Beats Audio. Along with the leak comes some information about a release date, too: the next EVO will launch on May 18 with a $199.99 price tag, with preorders beginning on May 7, the website says.

Sure, leaks like this aren't set in stone, but based on the quality of material, we're going to go ahead and hope that this source knows what they're talking about. We'll continue to keep our ears to the ground; as we all patiently wait, check out the EVO 4G LTE marketing materials below.

Be Concise! ? The Top Questions Asked At A Y Combinator Interview

pgAs of yesterday Y Combinator began its marathon series of interviews to decide which startup teams will ultimately go through the - now world-renowned - program. Interviews go on for five days. Rumours that people have been seen running screaming from the building shouting "The Horror!" have not been confirmed. But I'm currently in the Valley catching up with one or two of those European hopefuls trying to get into Paul Graham's good books - indeed I bumped into one team at San Francisco's SFO airport. Turns out the YC pitch document I saw being worked on a laptop on the plane over was for Stackblaze. The guys behind it, James Cunningham and Colin Hayhurst, also put together a cute web app full to the brim with the kinds of typically blunt questions you get asked at a YC interview. You can check it out here, and subject yourself to the same torture as all those YC hopefuls.

(Founder Stories) Send The Trend?s Gugnani & Chris Dixon Discuss M&A

(Founder Stories) Send Trend Episode 2.mp4In episode II of Divya Gugnani's Founder Stories interview with host Chris Dixon, the two dive into M&A, a topic that both founders know well. Dixon's company Hunch, was recently acquired by eBay and Gugnani's company, Send The Trend was recently acquired by QVC. On being acquired, Gugnani tells Dixon that she was approached much earlier than she had anticipated and it was a "really intimidating and scary" experience. She adds, "there were really two directions; do I go down this route and potentially distract myself from the base business that is growing ... or do I just keep focusing on my business and have that kind of bravado that you know what, it is going to be worth so much more later?"

Usher Makes Fans 'Scream' With New Dance Single

Club track is second release from singer's upcoming Looking for Myself.
By John Mitchell

<P>With nine #1s, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> is easily one of the most reliable hitmakers in the game, and he may have just found his next smash hit. The R&B superstar released his latest single, "Scream," on Thursday (April 26), and it has chart-topper written all over it. </P><P> </P><P>The Max Martin-produced banger finds Usher in familiar territory, singing the virtues of living for the moment &#8212; just as he did on 2010's "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love," which was also helmed by Martin. With a pounding beat and a massive, swelling hook, the song returns Usher to the club after his recent foray into slow-jam territory with <a href="/news/articles/1682000/climax-usher-diplo.jhtml">"Climax,"</a> the Diplo-produced first single from his forthcoming <i>Looking for Myself.</i> </P><P> </P><P>"I see you over there, so hypnotic Thinking 'bout what I do to that body/ I get you like ooh baby baby," Ush sings. Usher made a surprise appearance during Guetta's set at Coachella on April 14. </P><P> </P><P>"These are really big records that we're working on right now," Guetta told <i>The Hollywood Reporter</i> of his new track with Ush. House passes bill that would call for a single website tracking federal spending

ImageThe last time a proposed law captured our attention it was so widely loathed it was never even put to a vote, but today we bring you the kind of no-brainer legislation that seems to have strong support on both sides of the aisle. The US House of Representatives has passed the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA), a bill that calls for the creation of an independent board to log all federal spending on a single, centralized website. What's more, these expenses need to be recorded with identifiers and markup languages that make them more easily searchable. As Computerworld notes, the vote happens to come on the heels of a recent dust-up involving the US General Services Administration spending $823,000 on a conference in Vegas -- precisely the sort of excess this proposed website would be designed to expose. The next step, of course, is for the bill to win Senate approval, though for now it seems the legislation has garnered strong bi-partisan support: in a rare showing, all of the lawmakers who discussed the DATA Act on the House floor argued in favor of it.
